Co-Managed a team of 10-16 responsible for design and development of a multi-channel digital vision and strategy for the firm’s largest account, Best Buy.

  • Defined a multi-track digital vision and strategy roadmap for a multi-year, multi-track project across 7 digital properties aimed at both consumers and store associates.

  • Created and conducted presentations for executive client reviews and approvals across various departments including Brand, Technology, and Digital Tools.

  • Led creation of digital consultation strategy for 5 digital properties and 3 future roadmap projects.

  • Estimated resource requirements for researchers, interaction designers, visual designers, copywriters, video producers, asset producers, developers and any necessary vendors. Responsible for assigning appropriate staff to project track teams throughout phased development.

  • Managed, designed and employed several research and test methodologies according to the needs of the project track. These include quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews, ethnographies, user and client workshops, concept and prototype tests.
     

Director of User Experience, PlanetOut Inc., 2007-2009
Led user experience team responsible for redesign and re-launch of the Gay.com website including interaction design, visual design and copy teams. Gay.com included group chat, IM, online profiles, profile search, mail, and original content with an active membership of approximately 6.5 million users internationally.

  • Managed a mixed team of staff and vendor resources consisting of interaction designers, copywriters, and visual designers to develop and execute website vision, including 3 months managing the team from Buenos Aires. 

  • Collaborated with Brand to create and implement new visual language, voice and tone for the website.

  • Managed several vendor relationships including technology partners based in Buenos Aires. 

  • Designed and conducted user research workshops that helped identify early on potential unfulfilled user needs.

  • Collaborated with technical teams to ensure deliverables were produced and handed off in accordance with Agile methodology.

  • Defined Chipotle.com redesign strategy, collaborating closely with the Chipotle Chief Marketing Officer and Digital VP, to focus on differentiating the brand with an innovative and interactive site experience.

  • Created detailed page schematics and functional specifications for hand off to developers and visual designers.
